How to Eat a Blueberry..

I present to you..
Two ways to enjoy the first berries of the season..
1.  Pick the perfect berry.

2.  Eat it.
(closing your eyes enhances the moment - the same applies to singing Brandy (you're a fine girl)
You know what I'm saying.

The second way..a tad more savage, but equally effective.
1.  Take two handfuls of berries.

2.  Stuff them in fast...chew.

Allison over at The Life of a Novice! sent me this award two weeks ago.  We were just going away, so I am now sending my thanks to her!
I must now share 7 things about myself..
1.  I'm eating a Peanut Buster Parfait from Dairy Queen.  How very un-organic of me.
2.  I secretly have the hots for Kid Rock.  He's a red neck beer singing fool, and damn, I like it.
3.  I can't keep a house plant alive, and frankly, don't want to.
4.  I had a big fight with my husband this morning.
5.  One of my favourite movies is Captain Ron.
6.  People magazine called three weeks ago and asked if I could style a shoot with Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan - I didn't want to do it.
7.  I only have six.

Lily is adorable and a wonderful blueberry eating teacher! Thanks for the visit today and for letting my boy sneak some of your yummy berries :) By the way, one of our jars of blueberry lavendar jam got opened the moment we entered the house, slathered on some bread, and VERY MUCH enjoyed. We all agreed it wins best blueberry jam EVER. Yum.

We'll be back soon!

That's the spirit, you and Lily! 'Rebel Without a Goat' is what this blog should be called. 'A Day in the Country' is too tame for you both...

Love the pics...how do you keep your kids from wearing more then they eat?

#2 I totally get, something about him make me want to wear cutoffs and drink bourbon straight from the bottle..lakeside! That's the last I'll admit that.

Have a great day,

I think I eat blueberries more like the second way. Lily is a very expressive blueberry eater - love it.

Sweet photos! Blue crop is my favourite.
Picked those babies every year for five years Made good money when I was a kid. One year I even managed to pick a ton. Serious!
May I come pick some, please?

I just found your blog (can't remember how) but I think I'm in love. Love your style too. And so funny but I recently did a post on the proper way to eat a cupcake that reminds me very much of your little blueberry eating sweetie.

I'm new to your blog but have found it to be beautiful as well! Congrats. Love the instructions on how to eat a blueberry! My husband and I have one blueberry bush that has fruit for the first time this year so this will come in handy! Thanks also for the honesty of your list. It's good to know that others have things they don't want to do either.

I have a Lily as well.
The first picture is my fave, but all of them are Absolutely adorable ;)

I love that photo. Glad your blueberries are in. I had a few from my only plant this year. I am going to have to find out what kind of blueberry thrives in zone 7. And, glad you're normal (your 7 things...)

Now I'm afraid to try the "pick a perfect berry" style for fear my eyes will cross and remain that way forever,

Double fisted seems safer.

I see I have so much to learn about proper blueberry eating etiquette. About houseplants- My incredible gardener friend has a sign that says "If you are not killing houseplants you are not stretching yourself as a gardener." Words to live by.

Heather, you are so funny! Congrats on your award! I love your list of 6 things about yourself. You, who can grow anything outside, can't keep a houseplant alive??

As for blueberries, what a great shot that first on is! Although I understand the "cram everything in your mouth at one time" system.

She looks so very cute, stuffing her mouth with berries. These photos will keep my spirits high throughout the day.

Those blueberry-eating photos are the best! We went berry picking over the weekend, and I think I did much more of the second method than the first. I just couldn't help myself.

Ahhh...summer. This is what it's all about. We are not lucky enough to have a working farm, but we joined a CSA this summer. It's the best thing we have done this summer. I love going to pick strawberries, raspberries and soon blackberries with my little man. He prefers the second way to eat them! BTW...do you have any good jam recipes or is that a trade secret?

I love that she lovest the blueberries! I have two teenage boys that wont touch em. I am jealous!

We are new followers and love your blog!. Its hard to imagine fighting with a man who built such a spectacular garden house as a wedding gift. It is also hard to imagine turning down that glam shoot. I would like to know what you did instead?
