Life seems to be full of changes these days.
A new neighbour..
Lots of new tangles to get out of..
...and I've really noticed that my holiday decor has taken a turn.
It use to be..well, styled.
I'm a stylist, it's what I do.
But..then I had a baby four years ago.
And now, creepy Angels or Queens...not sure, but they tug at my heart.
'Stuff' clutters my counters.
And embarrassing displays make me smile.
I still have some bits of my own.
With several additions...
But I've long since stopped caring about my idea of the perfect Christmas.
This is it.
It is perfect.
It's also up a lot higher this year.

Sweet, sweet post....made me smile!
They are only young once, that's what I keep thinking. There will be plenty of time later to have my tree and the perfect all-matching decor. Just go with it...and enjoy it!
A beautiful child AND a puppy! You're going to have a very Merry Christmas. indeed!!
xo Mary
love the decorations!
anything child made is the cutest!
ps i love your neighbor! horse jackets get me every time!
Yes, the days of a styled adult Christmas are over....it all has to be 4 feet of the floor now too to keep puppy away from the decor.
Adorable! Treasure these days...they all grow up way too soon!
love love love your rudolph ornaments..one of my kids (now 37, 35 and 32 ) favorite christmas shows..all too soon, they grow and start their own traditions...enjoy! my word verification is "ovens" hmmmm..perhaps some shortbread cookies today!!
um, your doggies paws appear to be large...do you know what that means?
I love this post...it is just so true. The special things aren't the decorations..but the smiles and the crazy creations that our children are so proud of!
The little town buildings bring back some great memories. Great photos.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you for this reminder...everything is already perfect when your child is healthy, your home is warm and your heart is filled with love.
Love it H! I'm less uptight with Christmas decor too...life's too short! With those happy faces, really, that's all you need ;) I love Oliver and I can't wait to play with him. He really looks like Plugger as a puppy.
This is a great post!! It reminds me of when my kids were little. You ajust to the decor for sure. The fun is in the smiles they have and the memories you create. Enjoy the fruit loop garland now because they grow up all to fast and soon enough the tree will be yours again... Cute puppy...
Merry Christmas....
