I Should Have...

..bought a bigger pool.

I shouldn't have...

..tried to carry two pot pies at once.
Is it wrong that we still ate the part inside that didn't touch the floor?
Is it wrong that I spent so much time getting a good shot of this?

I'm the kind that eats a Smartie I fund under the couch when I vacuum, so I say, not it wasn;t wrong to eat the pie.

Adore the photo of your girl and her furry companion in the pool. Those two are inseparable, aren't they! It was not a sin to eat what was left of the pot pie; resourceful, I say.

Hi Heather,

I've been reading your blog for quite a while now and enjoy your posts very much. I appreciate the recipes and the pretty photos that give us a taste of the authenticity of your farmhouse lifestyle but you always win me over with your whimsical way with words! It's the first time I've commented and I'm your newest follower. I hope you'll come by and say 'hi' to a fellow Canadian who's new to this wonderful world of creativity and inspiration!

Have a great weekend,

Poppy

PS: In my most recent post, I spent an hour (!) trying to capture the fleurs de lis ironwork on the window of my front door in the fully lit entranceway shot. Never got it...opened the door and snapped it in a second!! Learning as I go along...

It's so adorable that your dog and daughter play together in the pool. Thank goodness there is some summer sunshine to play outside and enjoy.

The pot pie mishap is unfortunate but a very nice photo resulted...hope it tasted delicious.

OMG! You made me laugh!
When I burn my cookies really really bad and toss them in the trash can... my hubby always tries to save them from being all tossed in the can. I will tell them they look way too sorry to be called cookies! (cookies almost black through and through) (I am a pie baker not a cookie baker because I forget to take them out on time). My dear will tell me... "But they taste great when dunked in a good cup of coffee!"
And when it comes to your pie, it is only bad if you in your heart know it is... If the inside is still good - I would not throw good food away! (only burned cookies - lol)

I very much enjoy your post!
till soon
Sandy
