Creepy but beautiful distractions..

I was planning on sharing the perfect start to a day in my blog - a big foamy latte and yummy french toast.. but then I was completely distracted by what I saw out my window...

It was like spiders had toilet papered my vegetable garden. They'd had a riotous party, and things got out of hand. The only thing I hate more than a liquored up spider, is a group of liquored up spiders.

Lily and I booted up and headed out to get a closer look. Webs every where! They are quite beautiful. Till the big mother of a spider showed herself. Then we ran like the girls we are back inside.

Those are pretty cool. I wonder if it's the time of year? We seem to have heaps covering our crazy tomato plants, like the spiders are deliberately preventing me from picking our bounty.

They are cool looking except for the big spider part....I love your breakfast...yum!

Pesky spiders joining in the blogging 'I made it myself' show-off craft trend with their fancy webs and putting me and my dusty sewing machine to shame.

Hey, I never thought of that - they are show offs aren't they. Perhaps if they were kind about it, bestowed a compliment my way, but no, I've not heard one word from them.

I would have ran too! Spiders make me jumpy. =)
Thank you for your kind words regarding our backyard. Now if the rain will ever stop so we can get back there. Love the photo in your header too, btw.

Great weather in the morning these days to find dew on all the webs. I have noticed them as well and boy some of those spiders are amazingly large! I guess as long as they decide to stay outside and not come in and visit. Happy Weekend to you all!

Hi Heather...just a note in response to your comment you left on my blog. We head to the market in downtown Abbotsford..it is very small but to my surprise there are a few good venders...but it changes weekly. Last week there was an amazing flower stall and a sweet little bakery stall. But it is raining cats and dogs this morning here so if it does not stop I am going to skip it today which is making me sad but no fun when everything is wet.{It is really raining...pounding on my rooftop..not just a wee drizzle} The one in Vancouver sounds great...probably much more to see than our wee one!
Have an amazing day!

Love your description, my spiders had bandaged a woodpecker knocker that we have in our garden, I love how the dew makes all their handy work visible.

Aren't they awful?! We just moved to a farm in the country where the garden has overgrown for years and there are spiders everywhere!! Lovely blog - just found you!

..love those Images Heather ...Spiders webs are like rows of tatting!..that my grandmother used to do!...I have made cushions (you know the one) with her tatting and framed some pieces!.....
....& spiders are terrestrial predators and do not eat plants!...They eat pest insects!...(House spiders and outdoor spiders are not the same)
