I've been absent. I spent six days at our cabin in the gulf islands. I've so much to show you, so I'll keep my text super brief.
I present... a little slice of BC's Gulf Islands.
Our view.
The Island cliffs.
The ground is covered in this in some spots...
..this on the edges..
..and this on the paths.
lots of rows.
lots of quiet.
Every day, we had this little guy to our left..
This big boy above our heads..
..and these two to our right.
No power, no phones, no computer, no cars.
I feel better.

What wonderful pictures! You must really feel blessed to have a cottage in the Gulf Islands. Thank you for sharing.
XO,
Valerie
I was waiting for your post, H. Looks beautiful! One of these days I'll have to check out that little island of magic! That water looks amazing.
Looks like a little piece of heaven to me.
Ahhhhh ....
What beautiful scenery. The water looks wonderful. Your little one must have loved the wildlife.
It is so beautiful on the gulf islands - what a wonderful place to have a retreat. I love your amazing cliff. Do you have to canoe or kayak to get to it? I see what you mean about your field of reindeer moss. I got a photo of mine on the last trip to the cottage as well.
gorgeous..thank you for sharing. well deserved holiday. hope to catch up soon!
Oh!!!!! I really want to be there. Must work harder... must work harder...
What an incredible trip! It must feel great to completely decompress and relax! I'm glad you got the chance to do that! xo
might I ask which one? I spent my childhood summers on mayne - I absolutely adore it!
xx
Same as me! But I find there's such a sweep of things when I get back after a week off. Pacing is everything, they say.
These are beautiful images of a clearly wonderful place. Next time, please reserve me the cabin next door.
Oh my goodness, that looks like heaven!
Lucky, lucky you!
What a beautiful vacation spot. I did not know the water was so clear and blue.
....aaahh thats where I thought you where!...glad you had a great escape!
Wow Heather...this place is heaven...lovely pics! Happy for you!!! Kissessss. Bela.
I too vacation in the Gulf Islands but we do it by boat.
Your scenery is lovely... How lovely to have your own cabin, even without power, phone and cars...serenity at it's finest.
I see Mimi spent her summers on Mayne, I spent mine on Pender!
Oh, how could you ever come home after being in such an enchanted place? I am so glad that you had such a nice holiday. Carla
The Gulf Islands are wonderful - we have our cabin on De Courcy - it's really small, has no bridge access, so you have to have a boat to get there. Very quiet. The first shot is of a very tiny island that appears at low tide. It's covered in white sand and broken barnacles. We call is the Bahamas! We often take our sea chest there and hang out. When the tide comes back up, it's gone. It looks like the tropics there!
Heaven! Utopia! Shangri-la! Paradise! Bliss!

Oh my goodness. Stunning! We're overdue for visiting the coast of BC. I've been told so much about it. This seals the deal.
sounds perfect:)

Um...wow! That first image is stunning - the water is so clear. Dreamy.
Gorgeous photos, Heather! So relaxing.
When I was younger, we spend a month every summer in Georgian Bay...the first few photos brought back so many memories!
Just beautiful! Your pictures are fantastic.
