Weekend Peek..

We took a little camping trip on the lake..

Camping is never complete without scrabble...or rum.

The ducks are now roaming free on the farm.
Though, I think they are overwhelmed by the feast before them.

Soon they will learn there is more than one slug.

and Mabel has warmed up to me.
I do believe she is smiling for the camera.

Yep, definitely a smile - maybe she got the slug!

I"m glad to hear you had fun camping. I presume the rum is to help you sleep (or at least that would be me - homemade sleeping pharmaceuticals). A lovely end to summer!

Indeed, I think she's grinning! I agree--Scrabble (and Bananagrams) and rum do make for happy campers!

She's hoping she gets to go on the next camping trip.

The lake looks lovely and a camping getaway sounds so cozy.
Scrabble is a great game...love Bananagrams as well.
I play on the boat.

My city neighbours have Muscovy ducks!
They have a pond, the ducks quack and they are eat garden bugs...
and hostas...
so I divided mine and gave some to them!

I do believe that Mabel is actually flirting with the camera! (p.s. that lake looks AMAZING!) x

Mabel has one classy smile :) All 3 of them seem to have smiley faces though based on the previous pictures/post and compared to random ducks I've seen lurking around parks. I think your ducks are happy and content to be living with you.

Where is this beautiful lake? It looks gorgeous.

Your ducks, LOL. There is nothing like a happy duck gobbling up a slug, they are hilarious to watch.

We used to watch them slurp up the slug and run to the water trough of course we had over 25 at that time, but we didn't have any slugs left. Total duck bliss.

Definitely looks like a smile to me. The problem is, however, that I'm falling in love with these ducks and find myself thinking of ways to get my own baby ducklings, sneak them into my yard, and then say to my husband, "Wow, you will not BELIEVE what I found in the yard today! Some horrible mother duck must have abandoned them. Well, no matter. They can live here!" Think it'll work?

Looks like you had a nice time, despite the rain. Actually I think the rain would have been a bonus.
Good to see the ducks are earning their keep.

Mabel really does look like she is smiling. What a pretty duck she is. Is that a vintage scrabble board? It looks like it could be a picture in a magazine. Enjoyed my visit.
